"Cris co-facilitated NYC Tech Talent Pipeline’s Bridge To Tech program career development portion and in 2019, I had the opportunity to meet him while on my course I pursued at TKH by NYC Tech Talent Pipeline. I believe that my participation in that course had a weight on being selected to interview with Facebook. Right after my completion of that course, I was able to land an opportunity at Facebook as a Data Analyst (with the Business Planning and Operations team). Business-related skills, interview mockups and salary negotiation where some of the subjects I found most helpful during his classes. As a Latina immigrant in a non-so-diverse industry that is tech, there were times when I was unsure and not as confident as I should be. I think Cris was able to recognize that and took extra time to be reassuring and to help grow our belief in myself (ourselves). As an immigrant himself, I found his story and approach to be relatable. I also believe that it is not common to find people that had worked so tirelessly to the benefit of underrepresented minorities in New York so I definitely consider Cris part of my board of directors/counselors.
